Mountain View Cemetery records from June 1910 through July 1997 are now available in the database search.

Sources other than grave markers include obituaries from Yavapai County, Arizona newspapers; mortuary and death records; Social Security Death Index; files and records in Sharlot Hall Museum Archives. This is by no means all of the burials in the county. Because various sources were utilized there may be discrepancies in name spellings, dates and places.

The Yavapai County Cemetery Database is an accumulation of a cemetery project which began in 1989 by the Northern Arizona Genealogy Society. It was a project started by Dora Whiteside and Abbie Ritzinger who had the idea to catalog all the burials in the cemeteries of Yavapai County, AZ. Other chairpersons who worked on the project were Carla Sartwell Rube and Margie and Grant Brown. After Margi's death, Grant turned the project over to Raylene Junkins and Pat Potter. they were joined later by D. Sue Kissel. This group has worked almost exclusively in the Verde Valley in an effort to include the entire county in the database. Pat Atchison is the chairperson of the Citizen's cemetery committee in Prescott and has been working diligently to include this cemetery in the database.
