Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden

Nellie was born in Globe, Arizona, on July 30,1882, the daughter of pioneers Mr. and Mrs. William Gibson. On December 25,1901, in a double wedding with her sister Eva and Harley Miller, Nellie married Chester Shupp. Chester operated the Shupp Ranch in Skull Valley - the eleventh homestead officially issued by the Territory of Arizona.

Dora and Chester had three daughters: Edith (Mrs. Roscoe) Duncan, Helen (Mrs. George) Voller, Elsie (Mrs. David) Dougherty, and a son, Donald.

The Shupps moved to 803 Dougherty Street in Prescott in 1949. She and Chester celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1951.

Her mother-in-law, Josephine, is also represented in the Rose Garden.

Nellie died on February 22, 1966, and was buried in Skull Valley Cemetery.
