Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
Edna Connor was born June 4, 1893, in Rockford, Colorado, daughter of Albert and Surilda Connor.

In 1907, she came to Glendale, Arizona. Upon graduating from Phoenix Union High School in 1913, she went to work for Goldwater's store as a bookkeeper. She also worked for Dorris-Heyman Furniture Store and Korrick's Department Store as a bookkeeper. She was also the Fountain Manager at Campbell Drug Store.

In 1916, she and John R. Bell Sr., a bus driver, were married in Prescott. Edna and John had six children: John Bell Jr., born November 30, 1918; Joan McNeese, born August 31, 1917; Albert C. Bell, born June 9 , 1920; Edward L. Bell, born July 16, 1922; Kathleen Holten, born August 15, 1925; and Dean P. Bell, born November 5, 1930.

The Bells resided most of their lives in the Phoenix area. Edna was a member of the Methodist Church and knew many of the "old timers" and early governors.

She died in August 1981 and her remains were cremated.
