ELIZA SPINKS NELSON
Eliza was born on April 3,1851, in Carthright, Ontario, Canada. She helped her widowed father raise four younger children.
In 1876, Eliza married William Nelson, a merchant in the timber business. They came to Prescott in 1894. The Nelsons had five children: Amy Jane (Fagerberg), William, Frank, Louise and Charles Oliver.
Eliza lived at 144 North Pleasant Street and belonged to the Monday Club. She also enjoyed playing bridge. Her daughter Amy is also represented in the Rose Garden.
Eliza died on August 18, 1932, and was entombed at the mausoleum in Mountain View Cemetery.
