Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden

Evelyn was born on December 22, 1897, in Carroll County, Missouri, and came to Prescott from Nebraska in 1928. She married Bert "Monty" Montgomery and with him established Montgomery Cleaners.

Evelyn was a member of Smoki, Elks Ladies, Business and Professional Women's Club, Zonta Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Prescott Fire Department. She was the first woman to hold a directorship on the Board of Directors of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.

From 1952 to 1967, she was deputy director of the Civil Defense Office. She was also a member of the Yavapai County Tuberculosis Association.

Evelyn died on September 27, 1967, and was buried at Mountain View Cemetery.
