IDA A. SMITH DUTCHER
Ida was born on September 27, 1855, in Alleghny, New York, the daughter of Mrs. Orlando Smith. She married Dr. Egbert William Dutcher on September 29, 1873. They came to Prescott in 1892.
Ida's diagnosed tuberculosis was the reason for their decision to move to Prescott. Her husband wrote to her before she left California to join him in Northern Arizona, advising her to "take a bottle of Porter or Vest Tonic daily and bring plenty of lemons and oranges on the train."
The family lived at 119 N. Pleasant. Her children were Egbert K. and Emma. There is a Dutcher Museum in Skull Valley. Ida died on April 18, 1918, in Skull Valley and was interred in Olean, New York.
