Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden

"Kittie" was born on July 15, 1881, in Dewey, Arizona, the daughter of Frederick Hiltenbrandt. He owned most of Dewey and operated a ranch and way- station there.

On September 30, 1899, Irvie (Levi Irva) Bonnell and Miss Katie Hiltenbrandt of Dewey were married at the Congress House by Probate Judge C. P. Hicks.

Kittie worked as a practical nurse. The Bonnellls had three children: Marion Eloise (Mrs. D. M.) Bradley, Marguerite (Mrs. George) Ralston; and Fred.

Her husband, listed as Levi Irva Bonnell, died April 28, 1912, and was buried in the Citizens' Cemetery. Kittie died on May 22, 1978, in the Arizona Pioneers' Home and was buried in the Pioneers' Cemetery.
