Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
Martha Ann was born in Menzingen, Switzerland, on July 1, 1894, and came to Mayer in the fall of 1913, where she managed the kitchen in the White House Hotel.

"She had courage, humor and such a straight way of looking at life. The White House taught her many talents in life and her love for the Great West."

A rose was donated to the Rose Garden in her memory by a man who lived at the White House for 20 years on vacations. Martha Ann died on January 3, 1981, and was buried in Mountain View cemetery.
