Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
Jane was born in Middle Verde Valley near Camp Verde on October 12, 1875, the first child of James and Mary Human, who had come from Humansville, Missouri. Jane was considered to be the first Anglo-American child born in the Verde Valley.

In 1911, she married Jackson Henderson, who owned Henderson Ranch (Half Box Six brand) on Cherry Creek Road near Dewey. Her son Perry, who predeceased her, was a World Champion Bronc Rider, participating in Prescott rodeos from 1926 until 1943.

Jane's three other sons, George, Ed and Bill, survived her. Martha was a member of the Yavapai Cowbelles. She died in 1969 and was buried on the family ranch next to Jackson.
