MARY ELLEN LANGE JOHNSTON
Mary was born June 12, 1895, in Yeager (Lange) Canyon, Arizona, the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Larremore and Otto Augustus Lange. The Lange families came to Globe in a wagon in 1888 and moved to Yavapai County in 1895.
Mary was married to William Earl "Early" Johnston, a member of another pioneer Yavapai County family. He was a rancher and one-time manager of O'Malley Lumber Company. They had two children: Edith Louise Johnston Rathbun (January 5, 1916) and William Lange Johnston (July 5, 1919).
Mary and Early lived on the P Bar Ranch, the ML Ranch and in Sarah Lange Eckert's house at 330 North Virginia Street, as well as at the 7 Bar K Ranch near Williams.
Mary was a member of the Eastern Star. Her mother and her grandmother Sarah Jane Milne Larremore are also represented in the Rose Garden.
Mary died on May 20, 1927, in Prescott and was buried at Mountain View Cemetery.
