Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
Amy was born on February 23, 1861, in Kenney, Illinois.

On February 3, 1883, she married Emanual "Ed" Block in Buena Vista, Colorado. Amy and Emanual had three children: Gary E., born April 4, 1887; Beth Block Pelta, born March 5, 1893; and Harold, born in 1903.

The Blocks came to Prescott some time before Harold's birth in 1903. Emanual established a men's clothing store in a building on Whiskey Row, and the family resided at 129 South Marina Street in a house later moved to Cortez Street.

In addition to being a housewife and a devoted mother to her family, Amy was active in the establishment of the Christian Science Church. Her granddaughter remembers her as an estimable woman of quiet and modest demeanor.

Amy died on March 8, 1905, and was buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
