SYLVIA R. ORA REUTER
Sylvia was born on February 15, 1906, in Triplett, Missouri, the daughter of Albert Ora and Jennifer Reed. She came to Yarnell in 1923 and married E. J. Reuter. They had one son, John H. Reuter, known as Jack.
An avid gardener, Sylvia was president of the Alta Vista Garden Club. Her son, Jack, said, "Mom loved the out of doors and especially Arizona. Her great passion was her garden. The best times were with her many friends in the back yard."
Sylvia's garden at 1460 N. Miller Valley Road was chosen by the Alta Vista Garden Club as "Garden of the Month." She was president of the Monday Club (1942-43) and past State President of the Business and Professional Women's Association as well as a chieftess of the Smoki.
She was also a member of the Golden Rule Chapter 1 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Mother adviser to Rainbow Assembly, and belonged to the Congregational Church.
Sylvia died on May 4, 1981.
