Territorial Women's Memorial Rose Garden
Virginia was born on October 10, 1865, the daughter of Elizabeth and James Harlow Lane. They came to Arizona in 1882. She was a Mayer district pioneer.

Virginia married Albert Walter Lessard in a ceremony performed at the old Congress Hotel in Prescott on June 17, 1886.

The Lessards made their home on their ranch on the Agua Fria River. Their children were Ethel Chase (1888), Grover Cleveland (1890), Myrtle (1892) and Elva Breckenridge (1894).

Her daughters, Ethel and Elva, her mother and her sisters (Jessie Edwards, Mary Motsinger, Martha Enright and Melissa Schornick) are all represented in the Rose Garden.

Virginia died in 1940 and was buried in the Masonic Cemetery.
