The Sharlot Hall Museum sponsors several major events each year, including the Folk Arts FairPrescott Indian Art Market, the Folk Music Festival, the 'Day of the Dead' (El Dia de los Muertos) celebration, and the Frontier Christmas Open House.  In addition, the Museum presents lectures, plays by the Blue Rose Theater, the Annual Western History Symposium, and other special events. “Cold Chills and Gold Fever”

This original play tells the story of Charlie Genung, his wife and 10 children who settled in Peeples Valley in the 1870s. Written by Jody Drake, the story incorporates both great comedy and drama involving Genung and his wife. Much of the story unfolds through Genung’s great-grandson as he learns of Genung’s travels and adventures while pulling artifacts out of Genung’s old trunk. Blue Rose Theater, 415 W. Opening of “How Splendid is our Past,” a traveling exhibit from the Arizona Women’s Heritage Trail organization. Folk Music Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The charm and exuberance of Arizona folk music pervade the shade-covered grounds of Sharlot Hall Museum on Oct. 2-3 for the Museum’s annual Folk Music Festival, Arizona’s oldest continual folk-music festival. The event features more than 100 of the state’s best folk-music performers delivering a wide range of folk-music styles on four sound stages. The Folk Music Festival is renowned for its impromptu jam sessions featuring musicians from different groups and styles mixing and mingling with visitors. The family-friendly event also features musical acts for the kids. Further enhancing the proceedings are music workshops, an instrument swap meet and the ever-popular band scramble.
