The Sharlot Hall Museum sponsors several major events each year, including the Folk Arts Fair VillagePrescott Indian Art Market, the Folk Music Festival, and the Frontier Christmas.  In addition, the Museum presents lectures, plays by the Blue Rose Theater, the Annual Western History Symposium, and other special events.

Living History Workshop (one in a series), 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sharlot Hall Museum, 415 W. Gurley St., Prescott. Learn how to make such Victorian accessories as bonnets, muffs, reticules and parasols. For your $30 donation to Museum’s Living History program, you receive an instruction packet for the project of your choice and workshop help to complete the project. Call instructor Pattie Conrad (928-778-4810) in advance for details; seating is limited. This workshop will explore two themes: “mending is a never-ending chore” and “an apple a day,” featuring a presentation on making a frontier medicine chest and pasteboard containers for medicines, eyeglasses, needles, etc. Participants are invited to bring an item to mend.

February’s concert features Tucson’s Peter McLaughlin (right) performing with Chris Brashear. Chris and Peter have been performing together since 1992. Their shows feature sibling-like harmonies, intricate arrangements and stunning instrumental virtuosity. Arizona History Adventure, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sharlot Hall Museum, 415 W. Gurley St., Prescott. “Frontier Celebration” is the theme for this month’s educational adventure.  Frontier families varied widely in the holidays that they celebrated and the manner in which they did so. With a tradition of Christmas going back to the first celebration in Prescott in 1864, local inhabitants had their own thoughts on the matter. Included with Museum admission.
